Largest Share Sale by Foreign Investors Since June
According to Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey data, non-residents offloaded a significant amount of equities in the first week of September.
Non-residents signed off on the strongest equity outflow since June, with $647.6 million in share sales carried out in the first week of September.
Strong Outflow in Equities
According to data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, non-residents realized a total of $647.6 million in equity sales during the week of September 4.
This data was recorded as the strongest equity outflow by foreign investors in the market since June.
Comparison with the Previous Week
Foreign investors, on the other hand, had made $329 million in equity purchases in the market during the previous week.
Buying Trend in the Bond Market
Despite the strong sales in equities, foreign investors took a net buying position on the bond side.
Non-residents realized a net purchase of $150 million in bonds during the respective week.
Previous Week's Movements in Bonds
The same investor group had made a net sale of $80 million in the bond market the previous week.
