The Ministry of Trade has intensified its inspection activities targeting the stationery sector nationwide to ensure that students reach safe products and to maintain market order ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Purpose and Scope of Inspections
The Ministry of Trade has taken action to ensure that students and parents can access safe products as the new academic year approaches. Controls in the stationery sector have been tightened to protect consumers' economic interests and establish market order.
August and September Report
Comprehensive investigations were carried out within the scope of price tag and market surveillance inspections conducted throughout August and the first 10 days of September. During this process, a total of 33,182 companies were inspected, and millions of products were checked.
As a result of meticulous examinations, a total of 5,952,000 products were inspected. Administrative sanctions totaling 182,559,000 liras were imposed on businesses where situations contrary to regulations were detected.
Emphasis on Product Safety and Health
The Ministry continues its inspections of stationery products regarding price tags, product safety, and compliance with all relevant regulations. No regulatory violations are tolerated, especially in products directly concerning children's health and safety.
Market Order and Continuity
It was stated that field inspections will continue resolutely not just seasonally, but throughout the year. The aim is to effectively combat unfair commercial practices and safeguard consumer rights.
