Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen claimed that they carried out new missile and drone attacks targeting neighboring Saudi Arabia during the night hours.
Houthi military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree claimed that they targeted a military base in the Sharurah province located in Saudi Arabia's Najran region.
Damage and Injuries on the Saudi Arabian Border
Saudi Arabian civil defense units reported that a projectile fell into the Al-Tawal governorate near the border.
As a result of the incident, two people were injured, a mosque and numerous buildings suffered damage, and it was stated that the Houthis were responsible for the attack.
Yemeni Government's Reaction and Casualties
While the Saudi-backed government of Yemen pledged to retaliate, Sultan Al-Arada described the collapse of government forces as painful and distressing.
According to National Resistance data, more than 500 government fighters have lost their lives since August 9, around 1,500 people have been injured, and over 1,000 Houthis have been killed.
