National Electric High-Speed Train Reaches 250 Kilometers per Hour During Testing Process
Turkey's first indigenous high-speed train, produced by TÜRASAŞ, exceeded its target speed limit during ongoing dynamic running safety tests.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the first high-speed train set, developed with local and national resources, reached a speed of 250 kilometers per hour as part of its test drives.
Test Processes and Route
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu shared important information regarding the testing phases of Turkey's first high-speed train, produced with local and national resources by Turkey Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc. (TÜRASAŞ).
Recalling that a speed of 240 kilometers per hour had been reached previously, Minister Uraloğlu reported that dynamic running safety tests started on the Gebze-Eskişehir route and continued between Eskişehir and Polatlı.
Technical Specifications and Equipment
Having an operational speed of 225 kilometers per hour, the National Electric High-Speed Train set consists of eight vehicles with an aluminum body and a capacity of 577 passengers.
The vehicles feature an automatic train stop system, electromechanical passenger entrance doors, fully automatic air conditioning, and fire alarm systems.
Indigenous Design and Passenger Comfort
The Train Control and Management System and Traction System were completely designed and produced domestically and nationally in cooperation with ASELSAN.
Inside the sets, there are food and beverage vending machines, kitchen sections, two disabled passenger compartments, and wheelchair elevators.
