Nearly Half of Active Enterprises Were in the Service Sector in 2025
According to data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute for the year 2025, a significant portion of active enterprises operated in the service sector.
The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the provisional results of service and industry statistics for the year 2025. Accordingly, last year 48.4% of active enterprises were in the service sector, while the trade sector ranked first with a 46.8% turnover share.
Sectoral Distribution of Enterprises
According to provisional results, in 2025, 48.4% of active enterprises were in the service sector, 31.6% in the trade sector, and 12.4% in the industry sector.
Employment and Turnover Rates
The service sector accounted for 41.2% of total employment, while the industry sector's share was 26.1%. The trade sector ranked first with a turnover share of 46.8%.
Distribution of Production Values
Last year, the production value was 27 trillion 886 billion liras in manufacturing, 9 trillion 134 billion liras in trade, and 7 trillion 976 billion liras in construction.
Shares by Enterprise Sizes
The size group of 250 and above accounted for 34.3% of the turnover share, while the 1-9 size group constituted 36.4% of employment.
Technology Level and General Data
54.4% of the enterprises in the manufacturing industry were engaged in low-technology activities. The number of active enterprises was recorded as 4 million 16 thousand 59.
