Within the scope of the 19th Turkey Investment Conference held in New York, Netflix's 10 billion lira investment plan for Turkey was finalized, while President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized during his meeting with US investors that the economic program will be maintained, and the "Made in EU" crisis in the automotive sector was addressed.

Turkey's Economic Outlook Presented

On the first day of the 19th Turkey Investment Conference held in New York, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek and Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan made presentations at Citi Group's headquarters.

Minister Şimşek explained the three-year roadmap determined by the Medium-Term Program, while Karahan briefed participants on monetary policy and the macroeconomic outlook.

Major Investment Plan for Turkey from Netflix

Making a statement after the meeting, Netflix Global Affairs President Clete Williems announced that they have finalized a 10 billion lira investment plan for Turkey.

Business world representatives stated that this financing, exceeding 200 million dollars, is anticipated to be utilized for the establishment of a new film studio in Turkey.

Economic Program Continues with Determination

Coming together with US investors at the Turkish House (Türkevi), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated at the opening of the 1.5-hour roundtable meeting that the economic program is being implemented with determination.

Erdoğan emphasized that a sustainable current account deficit is targeted through the inflation-fighting program and that fiscal discipline remains valid in the same manner.

Made in EU Crisis in the Automotive Sector

Taking the floor at the meeting, Ford Europe President Jim Baumbick brought up the "Made in EU" issue and conveyed that they are requesting support so that Turkey does not remain outside the scope.

Koç Holding Vice Chairman Ali Koç also intervened, expressing the serious concerns experienced by the automotive sector against the possibility of being left out of the process.
