New Calculation Made for Civil Servant and Civil Servant Retiree Salary Increases in January 2027
The increase rate that millions of public employees and retirees will receive in January has been recalculated in line with current inflation forecasts and expectation surveys.
New calculations based on inflation forecasts have been carried out for the January raise of approximately 6.5 million civil servants and civil servant retirees. According to the projections made, the raise rate and new salary levels that civil servants will receive have started to become clear.
Principles of Calculating the January Raise
The first raise of 2027 was determined as 5 percent within the scope of the Public Officials Arbitration Board decision. To this rate, an inflation difference will be added based on the portion of the Consumer Price Index increase in the second half of 2026 that exceeds 7 percent.
Inflation Forecasts and Expectations
While July inflation materialized at 1.78 percent, economists participating in the AA Finance survey predicted that the CPI would increase by 1.86 percent in August. The year-end inflation forecast is expected to materialize at the level of 29.49 percent.
If this forecast holds true, the CPI rate in the second half of 2026 will come out as 9.97 percent, and civil servants and civil servant retirees will receive a total raise of 7.91 percent with a 2.78 percent inflation difference.
New Salary Expectations
In line with these estimated rates, the lowest civil servant salary is expected to rise to 75,779 liras.
Within the framework of the same calculations, it is projected that the civil servant retiree pension will increase to 34,021 liras.
