SBTÜ and ASELSAN Organize Workshop for Defense Technologies

Academics from Sivas Science and Technology University and ASELSAN experts came together at the Materials & Optics 2026 Workshop to discuss material and optical technologies for the defense industry.
Purpose and Scope of the Workshop
Sivas Science and Technology University continues its joint work with ASELSAN within the scope of university-industry cooperation. The parties came together at the Materials & Optics 2026 Workshop hosted by ASELSAN.
During the program, the current needs of the defense industry and critical technologies expected to gain importance in the future were discussed.
Technological Areas Addressed
Detailed evaluations were made at the meeting on advanced material technologies, advanced alloys, optical systems, MEMS, and steerable mirrors.
Additionally, superhydrophobic coatings, shape memory alloys, additive manufacturing, and aerodynamic studies were brought to the agenda of the participants.
R&D and Cooperation Goals
It is aimed to bring SBTÜ's R&D infrastructure and academic competencies together with the expectations of the industry.
University officials emphasized that they will continue scientific research with the aim of contributing to the development of a fully independent and strong defense industry.
