Global oil supply concerns triggered by developments along the US-Iran and Russia-Ukraine axes continue to directly impact fuel prices. According to information provided by industry sources, a new increase will be made to the liter price of diesel starting tonight at midnight.

The tension between the US and Iran, coupled with escalating heat in the Russia-Ukraine war, has significantly increased concerns regarding global oil supply.

The global price increases triggered by these supply concerns have directly reflected on fuel boards, leading to historic levels being seen.

Current Prices and Previous Hikes

Following the 6.59 TL hike made last midnight, diesel prices rose rapidly across Turkey.

With this latest increase, the price of diesel reached 98.47 TL in Bitlis and Hakkari, while exceeding 95 TL across Istanbul.

Following these developments closely concerning the budgets of millions of drivers, a new hike in diesel is expected tonight at midnight.

According to information obtained from industry sources, a price hike of 4.62 TL will be applied to the liter price of diesel starting from midnight.

If the expected hike materializes, the liter price of diesel will exceed the 100 TL threshold, reaching all-time highs.

With the new hike, diesel prices are projected to exceed the 100 TL barrier in 45 provinces across the country.

Expected Figures in Metropolitan Cities

The wave of price increases across the country continues to affect metropolitan cities as well.

Led by Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, the liter price of diesel in metropolitan areas is projected to rise to around 98 TL with the new tariff.
