New market measures and fund liquidation decision from the Capital Markets Board

Following developments in the Borsa Istanbul market, the CMB lowered the equity ratio for margin trading and announced that 130 investment funds belonging to 7 companies will be liquidated.

The Capital Markets Board announced that it has implemented new regulations and measures in line with the developments in Borsa Istanbul AS markets.

New Decisions Taken in the Markets

The Capital Markets Board decided to take comprehensive new measures as a result of recent developments in Borsa Istanbul AS markets. It was reported that the decisions were put into effect within the framework of the relevant provisions of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362.

Equity Flexibility in Margin Trading

A temporary flexibility was introduced for the equity protection ratio, which is applied as 35 percent by default in margin capital market instrument transactions. Intermediary institutions will be able to lower this ratio down to 20 percent in line with their own risk policies.

Validity Period of the Application

The temporary flexibility practice, which allows the equity ratio in margin trading to be applied at a minimum of 20 percent, will continue until a second announcement. This regulation will remain valid until the end of the session on October 2, 2026.

Companies Whose Funds Will Be Liquidated

In accordance with the Board's decision, all investment funds founded by Tera, Pusula, Hedef, Atlas, A1, Pardus, and Bulls Portfoy Yonetimi AS were included in the scope. The funds of these specified seven companies will be put into the liquidation process.

Suspension of TEFAS Transactions

All relevant funds whose investors' participation shares are traded on the Turkey Electronic Fund Trading Platform were closed. Transactions for these funds on TEFAS, both for purchase and sale, have been completely suspended.

Liquidation Method of 130 Funds

It was ruled that a total of 130 investment funds belonging to seven different portfolio companies be liquidated. It was stated that the liquidation transactions will be carried out using a special method to be appointed by the Capital Markets Board.
