An economy report prepared by the New Party TBMM Group highlighted the increase in individual loan and credit card debts, the number of enforcement files, and unemployment data.

Increase in Financial Debts

Consumers' individual loan and credit card debts to banks and financial institutions showed a significant increase between the specified dates. With the addition of debts to asset management companies, the total financial debt amount reached 7 trillion 449 billion liras.

Enforcement Proceedings and File Numbers

In the first eight months of the year, a large number of individuals were subjected to legal proceedings because they could not pay their debts. The number of new files arriving at enforcement offices via UYAP showed an increase compared to the same period of the previous year, and the total number of pending files rose to 26 million 191 thousand.

Unemployment and Foreign Debt Interest

The report also included the information that 1 million 223 thousand people who lost their jobs in the first eight months of the year applied for unemployment benefits. It was noted that Turkey's interest payments for its external debts are expected to exceed 25 billion dollars by the end of the year.
