New Regulation for Simple Accommodation Facilities Published in the Official Gazette
With the new regulation prepared for simple accommodation facilities and beach businesses, rules regarding license transfer, hygiene, safety, and pool standards have been clarified.
The new regulation regarding the certification of simple accommodation facilities and beach businesses, prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has been published in the Official Gazette and announced.
Restriction on License Transfer
Simple accommodation tourism operation licenses cannot be transferred for reasons other than testamentary dispositions due to death or inheritance. If it is determined that the license has been transferred in violation of this provision, necessary legal action will be taken by the governorate.
Minimum Qualifications and Reception
It has become mandatory for facilities with a capacity of 25 rooms or more to have a reception desk at the entrance. Food and beverage service materials must be stored at appropriate temperatures.
First aid materials will be kept in the facilities, and personnel with a first aid certificate will be employed. Cleaning, maintenance, and pest control activities will be carried out regularly.
Swimming Pool Standards
In facilities with a swimming pool, it is mandatory for the floor and walls to be covered with qualified materials, and for filtration and disinfection systems to be installed. The pool surroundings will be covered with anti-slip flooring.
A separate pool with a maximum depth of 50 centimeters will be provided for children, and at least two certified lifeguards will be assigned. Children's pools will not be required in places that only accept customers aged 12 and over.
Effective Date
In cases where room doors do not have electronic locks, an additional locking system will be installed. All these provisions regarding the new minimum qualifications will enter into force on November 1st.
