New Social Housing Initiative and Rental Model to Spread Across 81 Provinces with the Medium-Term Program
Within the scope of the new planning prepared to facilitate access to housing for low-income and disabled citizens, it is aimed to increase social housing investments and expand the rental model in Istanbul across the country.
Within the framework of the Medium-Term Program covering the 2027-2029 period, it is planned to facilitate access to housing for low-income individuals, disabled citizens, and newlyweds, increase social housing investments, and expand the rental social housing model initiated in Istanbul to all 81 provinces.
Medium-Term Program Targets
Important targets concerning the real estate sector were included in the Medium-Term Program covering the 2027-2029 period. Accelerating social housing production and expanding the rental housing model stood out among the prominent headings.
Increase in Social Housing Investments
It was decided to increase social housing investments by 150 percent in order to facilitate access to housing for low- and middle-income citizens. With this step, it is also aimed to increase resilience against disasters.
Rental Social Housing Model
It is planned to spread the rental social housing projects initiated in Istanbul throughout Turkey nationwide. This model is expected to balance rental prices and reduce inflation pressure.
TOKİ Project in Istanbul
It was announced that applications for the 15,000 rental social housing project to be implemented by TOKİ in Istanbul will begin to be accepted on September 14. The first drawing of lots is projected to take place in October.
