A private security guard in Mersin who lost thirty kilos in a year with the support of a Healthy Life Center overcame insulin resistance and regained his health.
Ahmet Bolat, a 48-year-old private security guard living in Mersin, regained his health by losing thirty kilos in twelve months thanks to the dietitian support he received from the Akbelen Healthy Life Center and the changes in his eating habits.
Support from the Healthy Life Center
Ahmet Bolat, a forty-eight-year-old private security guard living in Mersin, applied to the Akbelen Healthy Life Center in the Toroslar district about a year ago to get rid of his excess weight.
After a medical check-up and blood tests, Bolat stepped into a process accompanied by a dietitian, continued his checks regularly, and completely changed his eating habits.
A Drop of Thirty Kilograms in Twelve Months
As a result of the work at the center, Bolat dropped from one hundred thirty-three kilograms to one hundred three kilograms over a twelve-month period, demonstrating the success of losing a total of thirty kilograms.
Additionally, while his waist circumference decreased from one hundred forty centimeters to one hundred centimeters, his previously high insulin resistance and blood values also completely returned to normal.
Relief in Daily Life
Bolat, who previously got out of breath while walking and suffered from various body aches due to his excess weight, stated that he started to move much more comfortably when climbing stairs and walking after losing weight.
The security guard expressed that with this physical change he experienced, his night sleep improved and he could do his job much more comfortably.
Monitoring the Process from an Expert's Perspective
Dietitian Emre Kola, working at the Akbelen Healthy Life Center, stated that Ahmet Bolat was over one hundred thirty-three kilograms when he first arrived and his HOMA value was higher than eight.
Kola reported that weight loss from adipose tissue was monitored with regular check-ups and work will continue to drop the waist circumference below ninety-four centimeters.
The Importance of Lifestyle Change
Dietitian Emre Kola emphasized that losing weight can somehow be achieved by anyone, but the most important thing is to permanently change one's lifestyle.
Stating that the lost weight is largely regained if habits are not changed, Kola noted that a sustainable routine should be established with diets suitable for the individual.
