New steps are being taken for emission reduction in the aviation sector
Turkey aims to reduce emission rates through the use of sustainable fuel as part of the low-carbon transition process in aviation.
According to statements made in the field of transportation, with the process initiated under the instruction of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, it is targeted to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 5 percent by 2030.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel Instruction
With the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Instruction enacted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Turkey has officially taken a step into the low-carbon transition process in the aviation sector.
2026 Emission Reduction Targets
Within the framework of the plans made, the minimum carbon dioxide emission amount per liter for the year 2026 has been determined as 13 grams, while a 0.5 percent reduction in emissions per liter is targeted.
2030 Target and Five Percent Reduction
Thanks to the use of sustainable aviation fuel, it is targeted to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by a total of 5 percent by the year 2030.
Use Without Requiring Technological Changes
One of the biggest advantages of sustainable aviation fuel is that it can be easily used in existing aircraft engines without requiring any additional technological changes.
