Non-residents bought $429 million in securities last week
According to Central Bank data, international investors grew their portfolios last week through purchases of stocks and government domestic debt securities.
According to securities statistics announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, non-resident individuals made a net purchase of $429 million in total stocks and bonds last week.
Weekly Securities Transactions
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey officially shared the Weekly Securities Statistics closely followed by the markets. According to the released data, foreign-resident investors followed a buying trend in both stocks and debt securities throughout last week.
Stock and Debt Security Purchases
While non-resident individuals made $277.7 million in stock purchases in the markets last week, they carried out $151.2 million in Government Domestic Debt Securities purchases. In the same period, they recorded net sales of $5.8 million in Sectoral Issues Outside General Government.
Changes in Investment Stocks
The stock holdings of non-residents rose from $40,908.9 million to $42,410.9 million in the week of September 11. GDDS holdings increased from $18,058.9 million to $18,145.7 million. Meanwhile, corporate bond stocks declined from $4,458.3 million to $4,435.7 million.
