Non-Residents Sold a Large Amount of Stocks Last Week

According to the Weekly Securities Statistics announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, non-resident individuals sold $647.6 million worth of stocks last week.
Securities Statistics Announced
The Weekly Securities Statistics were shared with the public by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT). The announced data revealed the market transactions of non-residents.
Stock and Corporate Bond Sales
Non-resident individuals made a net sale of $647.6 million in stocks last week. During the same period, sales of Sectoral Issues Other Than General Government (corporate bonds) amounting to $23.8 million were also realized.
GDDS Purchases Realized
While sales were observed on the stock and corporate bond side, foreign investors engaged in purchasing transactions on the Government Debt Securities (GDDS) side. Last week, GDDS purchases worth $156.7 million were recorded.
Change in Stock Inventory
The total stock inventory of non-residents decreased from $43,263.9 million to $40,908.9 million in the week of September 4.
Debt Securities Inventories
During the same period, the GDDS inventory of non-residents rose from $17,834.2 million to $18,058.9 million. Meanwhile, the corporate bond inventory fell from $4,498.6 million to $4,458.3 million.
