Number of Detainees Rises in Fund Investigation While Economic Management Holds Meeting

In the comprehensive fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the total number of detainees has risen to 56 with new arrests. Following these developments, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will hold a critical meeting with the economic management and heads of regulatory institutions.
Development of the Investigation
In the process that started with the memorandum sent by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to MASAK on September 17, financial data belonging to executives of various holding and investment companies began to be examined.
Suspects Referred to the Courthouse
Of the 19 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation, they were referred to the courthouse, where 17 people were arrested by the duty magistrate and 2 people were released under judicial control conditions.
Number of Detainees Increased
With 6 more of the 8 suspects detained in recent operations being arrested, the total number of detainees within the framework of the investigation reached 56 people.
Economic Management Summit
Following the developments in the investigation, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is coming together with the economic management and the heads of regulatory institutions to hold a comprehensive meeting.
