Nvidia's second-quarter revenue surged by 106 percent
Technology giant Nvidia recorded massive financial growth in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, beating expectations.
Nvidia shared its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, which ended on July 26. During this period, the company's revenue increased by 106 percent year-over-year to $96.2 billion, while its net income rose by 126 percent to $59.7 billion.
Revenue and Expectations
Nvidia managed to exceed market expectations by generating $96.2 billion in revenue in the second quarter of fiscal 2027. Having generated $46.7 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company increased its revenue by 106 percent in this period.
Data Center and Expected Revenue
The company's revenue from its data center division showed a strong year-over-year increase of 117 percent, reaching $89 billion. Meanwhile, the chipmaker announced that its revenue expectation for the current new quarter stands at $108 billion.
Net Income and Earnings Per Share
Nvidia's net income rose to $59.7 billion after registering a 126 percent year-over-year increase in the quarter in question. Alongside the net income of $26.4 billion in the same period last year, earnings per share also increased from $1.08 to $2.46.
Payments to Shareholders
The chipmaker made approximately $26 billion in payments to its shareholders through share buybacks and cash dividends in the second quarter. It was stated that there was an unused resource of $99 billion under the share buyback authorization at the end of the period.
