October Election Calendar for Izmir Chambers and Exchanges Becomes Clear
Candidates have been announced ahead of the critical chamber and stock exchange elections to be held in the Izmir business world in October, with names who have served for many years handing over the baton.
As the leading chambers and exchanges guiding Izmir's economic world prepare to go to the ballot box in October, some presidents have announced that they have completed their terms and will not run for reelection again.
EBSO Elections and the Presidential Race
Ender Yorgancılar, who has served as the president of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry for 17 years, announced that he will not be a candidate in the October election.
Following Yorgancılar's decision, Mustafa Karabağlı and EBSO Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Hakan Ürün will compete for the presidency.
Single-Candidate Process at İZTO
Current Chairman of the Board of Directors Mahmut Özgener, who has been in office since 2018 at the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, is expected to participate in the elections as the sole candidate.
The İZTO professional committee and council members election will be held on October 1 at Fuar İzmir.
A New Era at Izmir Commodity Exchange
Işınsu Kestelli, who has a 17-year presidential history at the Izmir Commodity Exchange, also announced to the public that she will not run for reelection.
Former council president Barış Kocagöz and current council president Ömer Gökhan Tuncer announced their candidacies for the exchange presidency.
Yusuf Öztürk at IMEAK Chamber of Shipping Izmir Branch
Yusuf Öztürk, who has served as the president of the IMEAK Chamber of Shipping Izmir Branch since 2013, was shown as the sole candidate in the election.
The DTO Izmir Branch elections will be held on October 7 at the institution's own service building.
