POS Device Era Begins in Minibuses in a District of Istanbul
Within the scope of the new application aimed at facilitating passengers' public transportation payments, it was reported that no additional commission will be charged for credit card usage.
A new payment era has been implemented on frequently preferred minibus lines across Istanbul, with the initial application launched in the Pendik district.
New Payment Era in Pendik
Within the scope of the new application launched in minibuses serving in certain districts of Istanbul, the first step was taken in the Pendik district. POS devices that allow payment by credit card were installed in some vehicles in the district.
No Commission Will Be Charged
Thanks to this new system, which eliminates the obligation for passengers to carry cash, payments can be made practically via credit card. According statements made, no commission deductions will be made from passengers for payments made with cards.
Current Minibuses Tariffs
In July, public transportation fares in Istanbul were increased by 10 percent, and the new minibus price tariffs became official. With this regulation throughout the city, changes were made to short and long-distance fares.
Kilometer-Based Fares
According to the current tariff list, the drop-off-and-pick-up fare between zero and four kilometers reached the level of forty-three Turkish Lira. The fare between four and seven kilometers was set at forty-five, between seven and eleven kilometers at forty-six, and the distance between eleven and fifteen kilometers as forty-seven Turkish Lira.
Student Tariff
Within the framework of the regulations made, the student boarding fee, which was previously twenty-five Turkish Liras, was also increased. According to the new tariff, the boarding fee to be paid by students was updated as twenty-eight Turkish Liras.
