President Erdoğan Addressed the Turkey-US Business Council Meeting

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Turkey-US Business Council Meeting held at the Türkevi Center in New York, addressing business people and sharing the latest developments in the economic program.
Participation in the Meeting and Gratitude
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan came together with business people at the Turkey-US Business Council Meeting held at the Türkevi Center in New York.
Erdoğan expressed his thanks to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the business councils, and the Foreign Economic Relations Board for organizing the gathering in question.
Economic Program and Inflation Targets
Answering business people's questions regarding the economic program, the President stated that the program consists of four main components: price stability, fiscal discipline, sustainable external balance, and structural transformation.
Emphasizing that progress has been made in all of these four principles over the past year, Erdoğan stated that the year is projected to conclude with an inflation rate of around 28 percent, and that 2027 will be stronger in terms of disinflation.
Fiscal Discipline and Budget Status
Stating that they are in a good position on the fiscal discipline front, President Erdoğan said that the year is expected to close with a budget deficit of 3.1 percent relative to the national income.
In addition, the information that the ratio of public debt to national income remains below 22 percent was shared with the participants.
Transformation Processes and COP31
Touching upon the importance given to digital and green transformation, Erdoğan reminded that Turkey will host the COP31 climate summit in Antalya in November of this year.
Within the scope of relations with the U.S., it was stated that America ranks first among LNG suppliers and that this cooperation is aimed to be expanded, including in nuclear energy.
Regional Transformation and Trade Corridors
It was stated that with conflicts left behind, supply chains will be positioned and energy routes will be redrawn in the region.
It was pointed out that five major transformations will accelerate in the fields of changing trade corridors, the reconstruction period, and defense and advanced technology.
