Progress Made in Talks Between Iran and Oman Regarding Hormuz Transit Route

During a telephone conversation with his Japanese counterpart Motegi Toshimitsu, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that significant distance has been covered in determining a temporary traffic route through the Strait of Hormuz with Oman.
Strait of Hormuz and Route Talks
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi provided information regarding the contacts held with Oman during his telephone conversation with Japanese counterpart Motegi Toshimitsu. It was stated that significant progress has been made between the two countries on establishing a temporary traffic route from the Strait of Hormuz.
Regional Situation and Islamabad Agreement
During the meeting, it was argued that the current situation in the region stems from the United States failing to fulfill its commitments under the Islamabad Agreement. Araghchi stated that the return of the American side to its commitments in the signed document would pave the way for normalization.
Diplomatic Consultation and Bilateral Issues
Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi emphasized the need for continuous consultation to ensure security in the region and free traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. The parties also agreed to address various bilateral and consular issues.
