Purchase Prices and Date for Seedless Raisins Announced
To protect producers and ensure market stability, the Turkish Grain Board's new term raisin purchase conditions have been finalized.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced the purchase prices to be applied by the Turkish Grain Board for seedless raisins, a leading export item for Turkey. Kilogram prices range from 85 TL to 100 TL depending on quality grades, and the purchasing process will begin on September 15.
Rationale for Determining Purchase Prices
Drawing attention to the strategic importance of seedless raisins, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry emphasized that they aim to prevent market prices from falling during the harvest season.
In the official statement, it was expressed that intervention purchases were necessary to protect producers and ensure stability in the markets.
Kilogram Prices by Quality Groups
According to the tariff set by the Turkish Grain Board, the purchase price per kilogram for number 7 sulfur-dipped seedless raisins was announced as 85 liras.
For other quality tiers, it was reported that payments of 90 liras for number 8, 95 liras for number 9, and 100 liras for number 10 will be made.
Purchasing Process and Preparatory Works
It was reported that the Turkish Grain Board has completed all preparations for the purchases eagerly awaited by producers.
It was conveyed that the institution has finished its technical infrastructure, storage capacity, personnel planning, and financing efforts, and will begin purchases as of September 15.
