Real sector confidence index declines while capacity utilization rises in September

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey shared the real sector confidence index and manufacturing industry capacity utilization rates for the September 2026 period with the public.

According to the data for the September 2026 period announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the unadjusted real sector confidence index declined, while the capacity utilization rate recorded an increase following a two-month drop.

Real Sector Confidence Index Data

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced the Real Sector Confidence Index data for September, making it available to the markets.

According to the released data, the seasonally adjusted index increased by 0.1 points compared to the previous month.

Unadjusted Index on the Decline

The seasonally unadjusted Real Sector Confidence Index decreased by 0.8 points in September, falling to the level of 102.

In the previous month of August, the said index stood at 102.8.

Sub-Items Affecting the Index

General business outlook, total order volume, and the total employment index for the next three months had a positive impact on the index.

Export orders for the next three months, stocks of finished goods, fixed capital investment, and production volume exerted a downward effect.

Capacity Utilization Rate Increased

The seasonally adjusted Capacity Utilization Rate across the manufacturing industry rose by 0.6 points in September to reach 74.1 percent.

The rate not adjusted for seasonal effects increased by 0.7 points to 74.2 percent.

Two-Month Decline Comes to an End

With this increase in September, the manufacturing industry capacity utilization rate resumed its upward trend following a two-month period of decline.

The studies were based on the responses given by a total of 1,982 workplaces to the Business Tendency Survey.
