Retail trade confidence index rose in September

According to September data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the seasonally adjusted confidence index increased in the retail trade sector, decreased in the construction sector, and remained unchanged in the services sector.

Distribution of Sectoral Confidence Indices

The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the confidence indices for the services, retail trade, and construction sectors for September with the public.

According to the released data, the seasonally adjusted confidence index exhibited different trends across sectors on a monthly basis in September.

Steady Course in the Services Sector

The seasonally adjusted services sector confidence index remained unchanged in September compared to the previous month, staying at 111.9.

While business conditions and demand expectations over the past three months increased in the sector, a decline was recorded in demand expectations for the upcoming period.

Upward Trend in Retail Trade

The confidence index in the retail trade sector reached 111.3 in September, marking a 1.1 percent increase compared to the previous month.

While expectations regarding business volume and sales followed an upward trajectory, a decline was observed in the current level of merchandise stocks.

Limited Decline in the Construction Sector

The seasonally adjusted confidence index in the construction sector decreased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis in September, coming in at 83.

While there was an increase in the current level of registered orders in the sector, expectations for the number of employees over the next three months decreased.
