The 28.4 percent end-of-year inflation forecast announced in the Medium-Term Program has revealed new expectations regarding the hike rates that SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees, as well as civil servants and retired civil servants, will receive in January 2027.

MTP Inflation Expectation

The end-of-year inflation forecast in the Medium-Term Program announced by the government was set at 28.4 percent. This forecast formed the basis for calculations regarding the salary increases to be made in January.

First Eight-Month Data

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, July inflation stood at 1.78 percent and August inflation at 1.84 percent. Following these two months, the accumulated six-month inflation difference for retirees became 3.66 percent.

Retiree and Civil Servant Salary Calculations

Based on the MTP forecast, an increase of 9.04 percent is expected for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees, and 7 percent for civil servants and retired civil servants. The exact rates will become clear with the inflation data of the remaining four months of the year.

Lowest Salary Forecasts

According to calculations based on MTP data, it is projected that the lowest retiree pension will rise to 25,681 TL and the lowest civil servant salary to 75,140 TL.

Central Bank Forecast

The Central Bank's end-of-year inflation forecast of 28 percent is also running close to the MTP expectations. If this scenario materializes, the hike rates and lowest salary amounts will show slight differences.

Changes in Social Support Payments

Depending on the inflation forecast, the amounts of social support payments such as the age-65 pension, home care support, disability pensions, chronic illness assistance, and paid military service fees will also increase.
