Seasonally Adjusted CPI Recorded a 2.29 Percent Increase in August

According to the August data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the seasonally adjusted general CPI experienced a 2.29 percent increase on a monthly basis.

General CPI and Special Indicators

The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the seasonally adjusted special scope CPI indicators for August with the public. According to the announcement, the general CPI, one of the sub-headings of the indicators, recorded a 2.29 percent increase on a monthly basis in August.

Price Changes by Various Groups

Last month, when unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco, along with gold, were excluded, CPI increased by 2 percent. The CPI calculated by excluding energy, food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, and gold materialized at the 2 percent level.

Sectoral-Based Inflation Developments

Looking at the index details, there was a 1.29 percent increase in non-energy and non-food goods, a 5.46 percent increase in the energy group, and a 1.48 percent increase in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group. In the service sector, the index recorded a 2.91 percent increase on a monthly basis.
