Healthy Child Healthy Future Training Held in Mersin

With the partnership of the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, an awareness and training program for children was held at the Toroslar Children's Campus and Halkkent Children's Workshop on the occasion of Public Health Week.

Purpose and Scope of the Event

Implemented in Mersin in line with the efforts of the Ministry of Health, the event aimed for children to gain health awareness and acquire healthy lifestyle habits at an early age.

Expert Participation and Professional Support

In the program where children and parents came together, expert health professionals in their fields, such as psychologists, child development specialists, physiotherapists, dietitians, dentists, and midwives, took part.

Inter-Institutional Cooperation

In the organized event, along with health professionals, the Red Crescent (Kızılay) and UMKE teams also took an active part and provided support to the participants.

Training Content and Practices

In the trainings enriched with games and various practices, topics such as healthy nutrition, an active lifestyle, personal hygiene, oral and dental health, and mental health were addressed.

Disaster Awareness and First Aid Training

Within the scope of the program, children were informed about vitally important topics such as disaster awareness and first aid, alongside basic health habits.

Raising Health Ambassadors

With this organized event, it was aimed for children to become conscious individuals who can protect their own health and share what they have learned with their surroundings.

Feedback from Authorities and Parents

While Family and Children Branch Manager Özay Öztürk emphasized the importance of the work, parents also expressed their satisfaction with the awareness gained by the children.
