Heiko Selzam, the new CEO of Mercedes-Benz Türk, shared his first comprehensive evaluations following his appointment at the internationally held IAA Transportation 2026 fair.
Turkey's Production and Investment Position
Heiko Selzam emphasized that Turkey is not only an important market position, but also a versatile base encompassing production, R&D, and engineering activities. He noted that the company's total investment volume in the country stands at approximately 4.5 billion Euros in today's value.
Electric Truck and Bus Transformation Investments
Stating that demand and market conditions will be decisive for the company to begin electric truck production, Selzam expressed that these vehicles could be produced in Turkey if sufficient interest is seen. Furthermore, it was conveyed that investments oriented towards electric bus transformation within the Hoşdere Bus Factory continue without interruption.
