Statement on claims that charging electric vehicles at home has been banned
It has been officially announced that claims circulating on social media that charging electric vehicles at home has been banned are baseless and no such restriction exists.
The Center for Combating Disinformation under the Directorate of Communications stated that reports on social media claiming charging electric vehicles at homes is banned and subject to fines do not reflect the truth.
Official Denial of Claims
Some content shared on social media platforms claimed that a new ban had been introduced on charging electric cars at home. The posts alleged that existing chargers would be removed and heavy fines would be issued.
Emphasis on Safety and Standards
In a statement released by the Center for Combating Disinformation, it was emphasized that there is strictly no such ban. It was stated that the aim is to prevent unauthorized and non-project interventions in installations within multi-story buildings.
Through this, it is aimed to prevent fire and accident risks and to ensure the life and property safety of citizens.
Rules to Follow for Installation
In buildings with more than two independent sections, charging units must be installed with the knowledge of the building management. Additionally, obtaining necessary permissions and complying with approved projects and technical safety standards are required.
Scope of Penalties
It was explained that the penalties brought to the agenda do not stem from a new restriction. It was reported that these penalties target violations of already existing legislation, such as out-of-meter connections, illegal, or unauthorized electricity use.
