The new Medium-Term Program, which determines the three-year strategic targets, main macroeconomic aggregates, and fiscal policies of the Turkish economy, has entered into force after being published in the duplicate issue of the Official Gazette.

New Program Published in the Official Gazette

The Presidential Decree regarding the approval of the Medium-Term Program, which contains the targets and policies for the next three years of the Turkish economy, was shared with the public in the duplicate issue of the Official Gazette.

Main Objectives and Macro Targets

Prepared in partnership with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Presidency's Strategy and Budget Directorate, the program covering the 2027-2029 period aims to strengthen macroeconomic and financial stability.

Maintaining fiscal discipline and establishing permanent price stability are among the primary objectives within the scope of the program.

Employment and Labor Market Targets

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated in a social media post that they will decisively implement policies to strengthen the labor market.

While it is planned to create 2.1 million additional jobs during the projected period, the unemployment rate is expected to decline gradually.

Growth and Inflation Forecasts

Within the framework of the published program, the economic growth rate is expected to reach 4.2 percent in 2027, 4.6 percent in 2028, and 5 percent in 2029.

The inflation rate, on the other hand, is targeted to decline over the years, dropping to 21 percent in 2027, 13.5 percent in 2028, and 9 percent in 2029.
