Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek shared the new steps in the financial system by announcing the changes made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey regarding SME loans and Turkish lira reserve requirements to the public.

SME Loan Growth Limit Increased

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated in a post on his social media account that support is being provided to the financial system and the real economy through macroprudential steps. With the decision taken, it was reported that the growth limit in SME loans was raised from 4.5 percent to 5 percent.

Regulation on Blocked Maintenance Ratios

Within the scope of the new regulations, it was stated that the blocked maintenance ratios for Turkish lira reserve requirements were lowered. This move is projected to contribute to the general functioning and operational processes of the banking sector.

Liquidity Management is Strengthening

It was conveyed that the regulations in question implemented will strengthen the liquidity management of banks. These steps taken are expected to support financial stability.

Access to Finance Will Become Easier
