Implementation of the Wholesale Market Law
Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy announced that the Wholesale Market Law, which has not been implemented for a long time despite coming into force, will be put into practice shortly.
Making a written statement, Minister Taçoy stated that for the first step to be taken in this direction, there is a need to establish wholesale markets in two different regions.
Second Region Works and Tender Stage
It was stated that the works carried out to determine a second region apart from Güzelyurt are nearing completion and the issue has now reached the tender stage.
Minister Taçoy noted that in addition to establishing the wholesale markets, they are also carrying out separate works for the rules and regulations regarding their operation.
Inter-Institutional Joint Discussions
The tender specifications, exit conditions, and entry-into-force conditions were discussed with institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance.
Meetings were also held with the State Planning Organization and Competition Board Delegations to thoroughly discuss what needs to be done at the beginning.
