Step Taken for a Five-Language Kurdish Economy Dictionary in Diyarbakır
A comprehensive dictionary containing approximately 5,000 terms is being prepared in cooperation with the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mesopotamia Foundation.
An official protocol has been signed to prepare a five-language economy dictionary containing approximately 5,000 terms in order to strengthen Kurdish's infrastructure in the fields of trade and finance in Diyarbakır.
Signing of the Protocol
An official cooperation protocol was implemented between the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mesopotamia Foundation to develop and popularize Kurdish economic terminology.
Scope of the Dictionary
Within the scope of the preparation work, approximately 5,000 terms used in the fields of economy, finance, production, investment, entrepreneurship, foreign trade, export, and industry will be addressed in detail.
Expert Commission
A special working commission consisting of academics and language experts to be established within the Mesopotamia Foundation will determine the Kurmanji definitions of the terms as well as their multi-language equivalents.
International Workshops
While the dictionary preparation process is planned to be supported by at least five workshops to be held with the participation of international experts, the first workshop was organized in the city of Van.
