The National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment and the Dong Nai administration discussed strategic roadmaps to accelerate the region's scientific and technological development during a meeting held on September 4.

Current Situation and Potential

Dong Nai is one of the country's economic hubs, with 89 industrial parks and over 45 billion dollars in foreign direct investment. The region possesses a strong production capacity with more than 730,000 industrial workers.

The city has established the necessary basic mechanisms for digital infrastructure and an innovation ecosystem in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.

Challenges in Digital Transformation

While the share of the digital economy in the regional GDP currently remains at 7.88%, a significant transformation is required to reach the 30% target set for 2030.

Despite the density of foreign investment, the weakness of local technological capacity and the shortage of qualified personnel stand out as the main obstacles to development.

Strategic Transformation Goals

During the meeting, it was emphasized that there is a need to transition from a document-oriented management style to a model that produces tangible products and technological solutions.

It was decided to develop new programs to ensure that data is not only collected but also converted into economic value and to increase the efficiency of budget resources.
