Record exports from the Turkish automotive industry in the first eight months
The automotive sector broke the January-August period record with 27.2 billion dollars in exports achieved in the first eight months of the year.
The Turkish automotive industry achieved 27.2 billion dollars in exports during the January-August period of 2026, registering the highest eight-month performance of all time.
Record Performance in the January-August Period
Despite challenging global market conditions and fluctuations, the Turkish automotive industry increased its exports by 2.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 27.2 billion dollars.
The success recorded by the sector during this period enabled its share in Turkey's overall export figures to reach the level of 14.7 percent.
General Export and August Data
According to the data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the country's total exports increased by 4 percent over the eight-month period, realizing at 185 billion 6 million 234 thousand dollars.
In August alone, the country's total exports showed an increase of 8.1 percent, reaching the level of 23.5 billion dollars.
Countries with the Highest Export Volume
Germany constituted the automotive industry's largest market with a volume of 4.4 billion dollars, followed respectively by France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain.
In terms of export value increases, France ranked first with a rise of 338.2 million dollars.
Distribution of Automotive Exports by Provinces
When examined on a provincial basis, it was seen that the highest automotive export was realized from Kocaeli with 8 billion dollars.
The city of Kocaeli was followed respectively by the provinces of Bursa, Istanbul, Sakarya, and Ankara, making a major contribution to the sector.
