Press Conference and Attendance
The Ministry of Science and Technology held its regular monthly press conference for the August 2026 period on August 28, 2026, in Hanoi. Representatives from specialized units under the Ministry, along with approximately 50 journalists and reporters, attended the meeting.
Digital Transformation and Data
Between July 15 and August 14, 2026, Vietnam reached 2,647 international publications in the Scopus database. Meanwhile, the National Data Integration and Sharing Platform reached 4.7 billion transactions, connecting all local units.
Postal Sector and Revenues
In August 2026, postal service revenues were estimated to reach VND 9,260 billion, representing a 3% increase compared to July 2026 and a 22% year-on-year increase. The postal item volume reached 440 million units.
Digital Technology Exports
It was stated that revenues in the digital technology sector for August 2026 stood at VND 680,586 billion, marking a 36% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The export turnover of digital technology products and goods is estimated at USD 22.4 billion.
Legal Framework and Developments
The draft amending the Law on Radio Frequencies, the Telecommunications Law, the Electronic Transactions Law, and the Technology Transfer Law was approved by the National Assembly on August 24, 2026. Additionally, the Artificial Intelligence Portal was launched into service.
