Strong Growth Expectation in German Economy in the Last Quarter of the Year
According to the Bundesbank report, the German economy is projected to grow rapidly in the final quarter following a slight increase in the third quarter.
Germany's central bank, the Bundesbank, announced in its monthly report that following a 0.3% growth in the first quarters of the year, a slight increase is expected in the third quarter and strong momentum in the fourth quarter.
Slight Increase in the Third Quarter
According to the Bundesbank's monthly report, following the growth of around 0.3% recorded in the first two quarters, gross domestic product is expected to show a slight increase between July and September.
Short-Term Factors and River Levels
The report particularly emphasized that temporary and short-term factors, such as low water levels in the Rhine River, lie behind this slowdown in growth.
Strong Growth Forecast for the Fourth Quarter
Stating that catch-up processes will begin once temporary factors dissipate, the Bundesbank noted that the economy will grow at a strong pace again in the October-December period.
Economic Resilience and Risks
Europe's largest economy has demonstrated a more resilient structure than anticipated, supported by infrastructure and defense spending despite the war in the Middle East and high energy costs.
Inflation and Price Pressures
Consumer price growth, which came in at 2.9% in August, continues to remain above the European Central Bank's medium-term target of 2%.
