The Zero Waste Foundation and Turkish Airlines have signed a strategic cooperation protocol for the management of cabin and passenger-generated waste, the reduction of food waste, and the lowering of the carbon footprint.

The Zero Waste Foundation and Turkish Airlines have signed a strategic cooperation protocol for the management of cabin and passenger-generated waste, the reduction of waste and food waste, the increase of resource efficiency, and the lowering of the carbon footprint. The parties will also carry out joint work within the scope of COP31.

Signing Ceremony and Statements

Zero Waste Foundation President and COP31 High-Level Climate Champion Samed Ağırbaş and Turkish Airlines General Manager Ahmet Olmuştur signed the protocol in question. Ağırbaş stated that thanks to the cooperation, waste will be reintroduced into the economy.

It was stated that within the scope of the protocol, studies will be carried out on various topics such as the prevention of food waste, resource efficiency, the reduction of emissions, and the increase of passenger awareness.
