Trade and Energy Cooperation Between Syria and Azerbaijan on the Table
Syrian and Azerbaijani officials met at a forum in Baku to evaluate partnership opportunities in trade, energy, and infrastructure projects.
Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Shaar and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met in Baku within the framework of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum to evaluate bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Critical Meeting in Baku
Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Shaar discussed bilateral relations with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum held in Baku. Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov also participated in this strategic meeting.
Political Dialogue and Contacts
While emphasizing that relations between the two countries have gained a positive momentum, it was stated that continuous contacts between Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev strengthen political dialogue and create new cooperation opportunities.
Natural Gas and Energy Projects
The supply of Azerbaijani natural gas to Syria was also discussed during the meetings. The parties stated that the said natural gas shipment is a concrete indicator of bilateral economic cooperation and evaluated partnerships in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Education and Infrastructure Support
Projects aimed at rehabilitating educational infrastructure in Syria with the support of the Azerbaijani government and initiatives in humanitarian fields were also discussed at the meeting. It is aimed to expand opportunities in trade, economy, and investment fields.
