Trade Minister Bolat Announces 2027 Export and Economic Targets
Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat shared the export and current account deficit expectations determined within the framework of the new Medium-Term Program.

Export and Import Targets
Minister Bolat emphasized that despite adversities in the global economy, they aim to raise merchandise exports to $292 billion in 2027 and goods and services exports to $450 billion in 2029.
Current Account Deficit Expectation
Due to increases in oil and commodity prices, the merchandise import target for 2027 has been set at $397 billion, while the ratio of the current account deficit to GDP is expected to remain at 1.9 percent.
Protecting Producers and Transformation
It was reported that the share of high value-added products will be increased, compliance with green and digital transformation processes will be ensured, and producers will be protected against unfair imports.
