Trade Minister Ömer Bolat held a bilateral meeting with his United Kingdom counterpart Reynolds within the framework of the G20 Trade Ministers Meeting held in Milwaukee, United States.

Bilateral Contacts within the Scope of the G20 Meeting

Trade Minister Bolat stated in a post on his social media account that he was in Milwaukee, United States, on the occasion of the G20 Trade Ministers Meeting.

He stated that on the occasion of this international organization, they had the opportunity to evaluate economic relations by coming together with his British counterpart Reynolds.

Trade and Investment Relations Evaluated

During this bilateral meeting, steps to further strengthen the existing trade and investment relations between the two countries were addressed.

It was also conveyed that the parties exchanged mutual views on deepening institutional interaction between the business worlds.

FTA Negotiations and Targeted Figures

Minister Bolat emphasized that the trade volume, which reached 24 billion dollars in 2025, clearly demonstrates the strong economic potential between the two countries.

With the completion of the Free Trade Agreement negotiations, the fifth round of which is being held this week, it is aimed to make the commercial structure more competitive.

It was stated that resolute steps will be taken to reach the joint trade volume target of 40 billion dollars determined by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
