Within the framework of his official contacts in the United States of America, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat visited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkish Trade Center in Chicago and conducted inspections regarding the ongoing work.

US Contacts and Visit

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat is in the United States on the occasion of the G20 Trade Ministers meetings and the Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity. In this context, accompanied by his delegation, he visited the TOBB Turkish Trade Center in Chicago.

Importance of the Market and Infrastructure

Stating that the US is the world's largest importing country with its large population and high import volume, Minister Bolat noted that he inspected the activities at the center on-site, which facilitate Turkish businesspeople's access to this market.

With the support of Overseas Logistics Distribution Networks, it is aimed to establish an end-to-end infrastructure that will enable exporters to access international supply chains under more competitive conditions.

Trade Volume Targets

It is projected that the foreign trade volume between Turkey and the US will increase by the end of this year to reach targeted levels and rise to 50 billion dollars by the end of 2028.

New Center Studies

Minister Bolat noted that preparations for establishing a second Turkish Trade Center in the US are ongoing, aiming to increase the effectiveness of the business world in the North American market.
