Tran Duy Viet Graduates as Valedictorian at the National Economics University
Tran Duy Viet, a student at the Faculty of Information Technology of the National Economics University, became the valedictorian with a 4.0 out of 4.0 GPA and a perfect thesis score of 10.
24-year-old Tran Duy Viet, who studied at the Faculty of Information Technology at the National Economics University, achieved a remarkable success by completing his undergraduate program in 3.5 years with a 4.0 out of 4.0 GPA.
Achievements in Academic Life
At the graduation ceremony held in August, Tran Duy Viet was selected as the valedictorian of the Information Technology undergraduate program. Completing the program in 3.5 years, the male student achieved a 4.0 out of 4.0 GPA.
Viet received an A+ grade in 33 out of 42 courses, while receiving an A in his remaining courses. Earning an academic excellence scholarship for six consecutive semesters, the student received a full score of 10 out of 10 for his graduation thesis.
Choosing an Interdisciplinary Field
A graduate of Nam Ly High School in Ninh Binh province, Viet took part in the talented students' team in informatics during high school and developed an interest in basic programming languages.
Realizing that engineering alone would be challenging, the student chose the interdisciplinary program in technology and economics to combine his technological expertise with an economic foundation.
Learning and Working Method
Stating that he has no special study secret, Viet expressed that he focuses on understanding the subject immediately during classes and asks his teachers and friends about points he does not understand.
Stating that this method allowed him to quickly review notes during exam periods, the student voiced that grasping the essence beforehand makes memorization easier.
Scientific Research Activities
Joining the EdTech research group led by Dr. Pham Xuan Lam starting from his freshman year, Viet took part in various projects beyond pure programming.
Contributing to projects such as the courses system, Codelab, Smartdoc, and ScoreUp, the student achieved awards in university-level scientific research competitions.
Graduation Thesis and Career
Developing the idea of establishing a programming practice and examination system for NEU students, Viet received a perfect score from his work carried out with the support of Dr. Pham Xuan Lam.
Viet currently works as a research assistant at the Center for Smart Green Transition at VinUni University, conducting research on carbon emissions.
