Transit crossing waiting times increased at Habur Border Gate
Due to disruptions in international transit transport and capacity constraints, waiting times for trucks at Habur have extended.
Problems experienced in international transit transportation conducted by Turkey via Iraq have caused crossing times at the Habur Border Gate to increase to 8.3 to 9.3 days.
Increase in Waiting Times
According to data from the International Road Transport Union, periods that were shorter in the first quarter of the year extended during the August and September period.
Density and Quota Rationale
It was announced that an average of 1,500 vehicles are processed daily at the Ibrahim Khalil Border Gate and priority is given to bilateral transports.
Electronic Advance Declaration Debate
While the KRG side stated that the density is caused by the failure to obtain TIR-EPD approval, the Turkish side emphasized that there is no open system.
Warnings Issued to the Sector
It was announced to companies through the Turkish Exporters Assembly to plan their shipments taking the increased durations into account.
