Trust in information shared by the federal government in the US has declined
According to a new poll, distrust in the information shared by the federal government in the US has risen to 53 percent.
According to research conducted by AP-NORC and USA Facts, distrust in the information shared by the federal government in the US has increased since 2024.
Poll Results and Distrust Rate
The poll conducted in cooperation with the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and USA Facts revealed that distrust in federal government statements has increased significantly. According to the research results, the general distrust rate reached the 53 percent level.
Areas with Low Trust in Government Information
Approximately 60 percent of adults stated that they have a low level of trust in the information shared by the federal government on issues such as the environment, foreign relations, elections, politics, abortion, and immigration.
Change in Distrust Over the Years
It was stated that the general distrust rate regarding federal government statements was at 37 percent in 2019, and in the latest poll, this rate recorded a 9-point increase just within the last year.
