Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated in a message on the anniversary of the Preveze Naval Victory that Turkey continues its exploration and production efforts uninterrupted in the Black Sea, Somalia, and the Mediterranean with its powerful energy fleet.

Emphasis on Preveze Victory and the Blue Homeland

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar made important statements on the occasion of the 488th anniversary of the Preveze Naval Victory and Naval Forces Day. He expressed that the great victory won in 1538 under the command of Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha continues to be a source of inspiration for the energy independence struggle being waged today in the Blue Homeland.

The World's Fourth Largest Energy Fleet

Drawing attention to the modern maritime vessels that increase Turkey's power at sea, Minister Bayraktar stated that the country possesses the world's fourth largest energy fleet on a global scale with a total of 6 drilling vessels and 2 seismic research vessels. It was stated that investments will continue resolutely in line with the goal of complete independence in energy.

Active Vessels in the Black Sea Field

The drilling vessels Fatih, Yavuz, Kanuni, Abdülhamid Han, Çağrı Bey, and Yıldırım, along with the seismic research vessels Barbaros Hayreddin Paşa and Oruç Reis, continue their operations within the energy fleet. Five drilling vessels of this fleet are working intensively to increase natural gas production directly in the Black Sea.

Growing Production Targets in the Black Sea

The Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform is planned to be commissioned by the end of the year. With the implementation of this important step, it is targeted to increase the daily natural gas production amount in the Black Sea to 20 million cubic meters.

Activities in Somalia and the Mediterranean

Turkey's activities are not limited to its domestic waters and continue internationally as well. While the Çağrı Bey Drilling Vessel continues its drilling activities with the target of reaching a depth of 7,500 meters at the CURAD-1 well in Somalia, the Oruç Reis Seismic Research Vessel continues its mission in the Mediterranean.
