Seeking to increase supply security in the face of global energy crises, Turkey is entering a comprehensive era that includes the tender-based allocation of renewable energy resource areas, YEKDEM modifications, and floating energy facilities.

Tender-Based Allocation Model

A new model is planned to be established regarding the determination, protection, and utilization of renewable energy resource areas. Following the identification of these areas, the allocation of connection capacities will be carried out through a tender process.

With this application, it is aimed to accelerate processes in renewable energy investments and use the existing electrical grid capacity much more efficiently.

YEKDEM Regulations

One of the most important topics of the newly prepared package consists of changes to be made in the Renewable Energy Resources Support Mechanism.

This mechanism, which supports renewable energy investments, will be reconsidered with the aim of integrating energy resources into the system much faster and more effectively.

Floating Energy Facilities

Within the scope of the strategy to diversify energy resources, brand new regulations regarding floating energy facilities will also be implemented.

In line with requests from license holders, a practical application for floating facilities will be introduced within the framework of certain conditions and periods.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Centers

The intensive electricity demand of rapidly growing artificial intelligence applications and data centers in recent times is being taken into account in the ongoing studies.

In order to attract these data centers, which consume high amounts of uninterrupted electricity, to Turkey, a reliable and accessible cost-effective energy supply will be provided.

Investment Environment and Incentives

Alongside rapidly increasing renewable energy investments, strengthening the country's energy infrastructure is among the main objectives of the package.

New steps are being taken to use various support and incentive mechanisms much more effectively, particularly with the aim of increasing foreign investments.
