According to international trade data for the second quarter of 2026 published by the European Statistical Office Eurostat, Turkey has become the European Union's fifth largest trading partner. The total trade volume between the two sides was recorded at 52.8 billion euros.

The European Statistical Office Eurostat has shared official data regarding the European Union's international trade in the second quarter of 2026 with the public. The announced figures revealed a significant mobility in foreign trade activities across the Union.
Extra-Union Import and Export Figures
During the period in question, the European Union imported a total of 701.8 billion euros worth of goods from countries outside the union, while exporting 680 billion euros to these countries. With these transactions, the EU's imports showed an increase of 11.7 percent compared to the same period of last year. In the same period, a 4.5 percent growth was recorded in the union's export volume.
Prominent Countries in Import Rankings
The country from which the European Union imported the most was China, with 153.6 billion euros and a 21.9 percent share. China was followed respectively by the US with 98.7 billion euros, the United Kingdom with 43.4 billion euros, and Switzerland with 36.9 billion euros.
Turkey's Place in Imports
The European Union's imports from Turkey reached 25.5 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026. In line with this data, Turkey positioned itself as the fifth country from which the EU imports the most.
US and Other Partners in Exports
The country to which the European Union exported the most was recorded as the US with 127.7 billion euros. The US was followed by the United Kingdom with 92.7 billion euros, Switzerland with 60.5 billion euros, and China with 50.3 billion euros.
Exports to Turkey and Total Volume
The European Union's exports to Turkey, on the other hand, reached a magnitude of 27.3 billion euros in the second quarter. With these figures, Turkey became the fifth country to which the EU exports the most. Meanwhile, the total trade volume between Turkey and the European Union reached 52.8 billion euros in the same period.
